This is one of the many reasons I love the Timber’s Army and am proud to be a member of section 104 Charlie Company. These photos are of the Mother’s Day match against the Chivas. The only photo which belongs to me is the one of the 107ist brochure.

Here’s a photo I took of Partizan Minsk ultras, who are a very left-wing based club from Minsk who did a tour of Germany during March. They played Tennis Borussia Berlin, Victoria Hamburg, FC Sankt Pauli, Roter Stern Leipzig & SV Babelsberg 03. This was taken when they played Babelsberg which is a team based in Potsdam who also have a very left-wing support base, coming from the large squat/punk scene in Babelsberg during the 90s.

I first learnt about Babelsberg from the excellent No Dice Magazine which had an interview with one of the ultra members from the oldest Babelsberg ultra group, Filmstadt Inferno 1999. No Dice is a magazine that covers football in Berlin at all levels. It’s a really great magazine, with some great photography and illustrations along with match reports and articles about local teams. I can’t recommend the magazine enough. It was an amazing experience watching the two sets of fans interact with each other, for a team like Partizan who face hostility in Belarus for their left-wing beliefs, being able to come to Germany and find solidarity with fans was fantastic. Watching Partizan ultras chanting ‘Antifa! Hooligans!’ then commence to have a snowball fight during half-time with the Babelsberg fans really reinstated my faith in football and football fans.

Brilliant submission right here - very much appreciated. It speaks for itself really - and, as an aside, very glad to hear that apparently Partizan Minsk’s financial problems are not as bad as they once were. A club with incredible fans standing up for their beliefs in an often hostile environment. Cheers for that.
